Written during the early echolyn years, mostly 1995, read the essays of Greg Kull. Visit the URL below to see posting’s of Greg’s work unearthed on a regular basis. Feel free to make comments. He might enjoy the feedback. Maybe.
The words I wrote for our first song are for a close friend whose son was very sick. I say was because around 430 this afternoon he left us. He was surrounded with family and friends. Once he had passed his mother played our song for those present. I made a promise to him that people around the world would know him. His name is Ray Foster. A brave little man. Hug your children, love your wife, girl, man, tell someone how much they mean to you and never forget.

]| Never the Same[06.25.07]
I and the rest of the band would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Orysiek and Rodowicz family in the loss of Richard Orysiek who passed away Saturday June 17. Rich along with his brother Ray were the the most critical influences in my development as a musician as well as the two of the greatest and most enduring friendships I will ever know. Rich was also the person to take me out to see echolyn for the first time at Dewers tavern back in spring of 1991, thus having the greatest impact ever on my career as a musician and life overall. He touched so many lives in more ways than he will ever know. God bless you and keep you Rich. My most sincere gratitude for your influence, encouragement, and for the extraordinary gift of music. My love to you and your family. Rock on Bro!!!

]| Brett + Paul with REM to help kids![11.29.06] Brett wanted to let you know of this cool thing he's doing with Mike Mills from REM.
Brett Kull and Paul Ramsey have teamed up with Mike Mills from REM and Sally Ellyson from Hem to raise money for kids! Money generated by the sale of the song is being donated to the Red Apple Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in the United States. The Red Apple Foundation works within communities helping children become healthier.
Tom wanted to let you know that echolyn will be playing live one final time in 2006 - albeit in abbreviated fashion. Many of you know Brett's work with Dwayne in Grey Eye Glances. Every year, Brett and Dwayne help WXPN (a local non-profit radio station here in Philadelphia) with a benefit for Musicians On Call. Taken from the WXPN website, "WXPN Musicians On Call is the non-profit partnership between WXPN and the successful New York-based Musicians On Call program. Each and every week, WXPN Musicians On Call brings live music to the bedsides of patients in three area healthcare facilities: The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. The program also provides CD Pharmacies (a collection of CDs and personal CD players) to long-term care units in a number of area hospitals in the region. Gently used CDs may be donated at the event for future CD Pharmacies."
This year, our boys will be playing as part of the benefit. The catch? They'll only be playing 2 songs. Some and support Musicians On Call on December 20th!
]| Brett's got his own MySpace Account![11.29.06]
Brett's been busy lately, and he's got the time to tell you about it! Head on over to his myspace account and become his friend!
Just a quick note from ProgDay - THANKS to all of you who turned out and made the show one that the band will remember for a long, long time. On behalf of the entire band, thank you for making us feel so special in a place with so many memories (some good, some not so good). With 2 more shows coming up, I can't reccomend enough that you NEED TO SEE this band if you can make it (hurricanes permitting, of course).
